The Komets brought the PAIN last night vs. the Puckers. We would like to congratulate our Team Leading Top Scorer and Points Leader, Melissa Knourek, who furthered her career points by another 2 during this game alone! She started out in the first 2 minutes of Period 1 with an unassisted goal and later in the first came up with a co-assist on a Scottie Baldree goal.
Our Goalie Brent Bryant, masterfully playing his first game with us this session, saved 14 of 15 shots on goal and held the Puckers at bay throughout the 2nd and 3rd Periods.
My own experience expanded as I played a center position for the first time, being backed up by Albert and Gerald. Nice playing with you guys. Thanks to Brian Brookman for giving me some pre-game pointers. Sorry for running you down twice during the first game when you were playing for the hated Patriots. I don't know what came over me.
Our next game is a Double-Header, and on the 17th of Nov. we will be pitted first against the dreaded Snipers who have only faced one loss this session and looks to continue their success, and then at 10pm we will face the Spiders!
The Komets defense will have to be unbreakable in keeping Snipers sharpshooter Joe Tomme from placing rubber in our net. Their penalty leader Jesse Henderson will have to deal with the Komets own bruisers, Ryan Smith and Stephen "Chilly Willy" Janis (who is a proud father of "J.J." as of this morning - Congratulations to the Janis Family. May God bless and keep your home).
As always, admission to the Komets games are free and the fellowship in the Cross Bar afterwards is also free, so come out this Saturday, NOV 17th, at 8:45 PM to watch and cheer as the Komets strike deep into the Snipers home territory and bring GLORY and HONOR to the Euless Texas I-League.
