Season 2: Game 7 vs. The Stickmen

It was bound to be a game to remember, as the Komets faced the 1-5-0 Stickmen. The Stickmen have the roughest Penalty Minute Makers in the league, with well over 20 total minutes in the sin bin. David Blubaugh (the Stickman Goalie) was not one to disappoint. I don’t know what our resident antagonist Sean Kier said to get him out of his net like that, but it must have been about his momma.

Season 2: Game 3 vs. the Puckers

The Komets brought the PAIN last night vs. the Puckers. We would like to congratulate our Team Leading Top Scorer and Points Leader, Melissa Knourek, who furthered her career points by another 2 during this game alone! She started out in the first 2 minutes of Period 1 with an unassisted goal and later in the first came up with a co-assist on a Scottie Baldree goal.

My first session with the Euless Komets was exausting, exciting and eye-opening. We stepped into the upper division (Gold) and ended the session in 2nd place, giving us a place in the Keg race.

In the exciting game vs. the undefeated Ice Holes, I didn't fall down (unless colliding with someone), I had two break-away's (un-scored), came within a blades edge of a deflection goal, received my first slash by an opposing player (un-penalized), and my line scores!

Season 1: Game 4 vs. the Leftovers

Playing I-League Hockey with the Euless Komets is *so* fun! I got to be on the starting line-up vs. the Leftovers, made some positive plays, embarrassed myself and even got into a pushing match with some very grouchy Leftovers Defensemen.

We played the mostly female team The Black Widows (whom I fondly term the "Gurrrls of Grace") who continuously communicate with one another on the ice; a very commendable skill I am told. I was privy to all of their secret commands however… "Get your ass out there bitch" seemed to be the primary command for offensive attacks against our lines.
